Any of you that have met me... Has to have heard my stories about "rodMAN'S BEST FRIEND".... Flipper!!! the Sea Monkey.... not JUST a Sea Monkey. The Sea Monkey that all other Sea Monkeys were measured by. He won the Sea Monkey National championships 8 years running... ( 1977 to 1981 ) He beat Mark Spitz in a 100 meter race. Once saved a bus load of nuns that had ran off of a bridge and landed in the ocean. ( true story ) ANYWAY.... My near and DEAR friend Cathy Sheeter did a BEAUTIFUL portrait of Flipper ( i suspect shes a big fan after hearing my tales of Flipper )... THEN GAVE IT TO ME!!!!! This MASTERPIECE will go down in history as the Crown Jewel in Cathy's Complete collection of work.

just when i was fretting about being able to retire or not.... this PRICELESS treasure lands in my lap. As Forrest Gump said : ' that's one less thing"

i had trouble getting pix and this one isn't great.. Thanks Cathy! http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/03-Apr-2011/19717-FLIPPER.jpg

Really great story, Rod. I often here about the great accomplishments of Sea Monkeys on the news, but none of them ever even come close to those of Flipper. You should be very proud!!

He died didn't he? What a shame. Still you have this lovely memorial of him now thanks to Cathy.

Not to take away from the late Flipper and his accomplishments, but i was really disappointed when I got my shipment of sea monkeys in the mail. They looked nothing like they did in the comic book advertisement. Mine never lasted as long as Flipper.
