View Full Version : Lincoln - WIP

Another portrait I've been working on. A friend recently treated me to wonderful concert at the Disney Hall in Los Angeles, and mentioned in conversation that President Lincoln was someone he admired. So this portrait is a 'thank you' for his generosity. Still needs some work...it's reading too dark for me.

C&C welcome!

WOW Hector this is fantastic!!! I did a graphite sketch of him last year in the Drawing & Sketching Weekly Challenge but it didn't turn out nearly as good as this. Well done - super job:thumbsup:

Your buddy will really appreciate this.

You have a fascinating style, and for your info, your girl portrait in the challenge was guessed correctly more than all the others because of your lovely style. This is excellent!!

Since I'm on dial-up things load slowly. But this time, what a treat to see those mesmerizing and magnificent eyes slowly come in to view and then the see the whole piece in all its beauty! All i can say is wow!

Amazing work Hector. All those wrinkles are so hard to do!! But you have achieved a beautiful result.

I love your strokes... such a lovely style and the negative areas that are suggested and not overworked.

I love the eyes and the fact that you allow the viewer to finish some of the work with our eyes. That involvement will always have someone in front of your work. Rick

This is beautifully done Hector. Love the skin and the eyes. I like Rick's comment about keeping the viewer involved. It works here.
