I suppose these little birds are turning into a series. Birds of our local SoCal area. Here is a pic I took from San Joaquin Ecological Reserve. This little guy was really flashing his red. This is a 5x7 and done on an Esdee board. I've started another one on Ampersand just to compare.

Here is the picture. I'll load it in the RIL too.

You know, I really really like what you did with the background. That is super arty!!

I have to agree about the background. The ragged edges look really cool!!

I can't wait to see the comparison between the two... I have only tried to do one piece on Essdee ( and some practice scratching on another )... I didn't get far. I'll be looking for your report/ comparison

Good work, I know I have done work on esdee and it's not bad but not as nice a Ampersand.

Thanks everyone. Yea when I did him it seemed like he needed a little something else. I started out with the spikey edges really just by accident and then liked them also.

Yours is more colorful

I finished up with the clayboard hummer. It is a bit different. Of course we all know that clayboard can be scratched many times over. I did like the Esdee because the paint went on a bit differently in the background blue. I can make it look sorta like clouds with the Esdee with just dabbing with a tissue. The clayboard it seemed to not want to get that same look. I just made a different look which was fine with me too. My conclusion is basically Esdee can be used in certain situations and I won't just exclude it completely when doing scratchboard although I do still favor Ampersand.

Nice job, Angela. What a handsome little guy. And thanks for doing the same thing on both boards and sharing the results.

Angela, you captured a lovely photograph. It's not easy to do, as you know, due to the speed of those wings. You reproduced the photo in a very creative and interesting way on both boards. I also like the creativity of the sky.
