View Full Version : Some of my Abstracts

Hello fellow artist,
Thought I would post some of my abstract work.
This painting is 12x16 it’s oil on panel. The title is “Leftovers II”. I don’t like wasting paint. So when I finish a painting, I use any leftover paint on my palette to do an abstract. I still added the primary colors out of the tube so it’s not all leftovers. I used a knife for some of this.
This one is 15x20 it’s ink on illustration board. The title is “Dark Trails”. Ink is not the easiest medium to work in because wherever ink falls it’s going to stay there, no erasing and it’s hard to cover up. This was a project for my 2D design class. I made an A on it.
This one is 11x14 it’s also ink on illustration board. The title is “splitting”. This was also a project for my 2D design class. Choose from a list of verbs and then illustrate that word with a nonobjective composition. I choose the word splitting.

Really cool Wildart! I hate to waste paint too and do something similar which turns abstract quickly. If I add paint it is better otherwise it may turn out just weird, dark and sometimes a murky mess. Nice job on all three, I like the last best.

Great work Wildart! Whilst I like all three, the last one is my favourite. I like the organic feel of it.

I know what you mean about pen and ink, I used to do pen and ink illustrations for print. I still do the occasional one for myself.
