These are a bit different in that the compositions have been greatly simplified. The texture is still there but presented in a much more "painterly" approach.

These are two separate images and much smaller than I normally work. Each image is 8'' square. I think the simplicity works best in that small size.

All C&C's welcome.

Todd and Mark.... thank you for visiting and posting your comments. Always appreciated.

I thought I had responded earlier but evidently I screwed up somehow and it didn't post.

I am just about to post two new images similar to these titled Lodge Pole 1 and 2.

I like your approach on these Jim. :)
I'm curious about (and maybe not understanding something) about the size you state for these pieces. Being digital images you could print them at any size you want (within obvious limits). Have you set the pixel dimensions when you set out to create these pieces?

Good images. I like the name you gave them, as well.

Randy and Raven.... thank you for viewing and commenting.

I start every image Randy visualizing it at a certain size. It's just part of how I work. But you are correct.... within obvious limitations imposed by the resolution of the original... they could be larger. For instance, I could print these as 24 inch squares without any noticeable deterioration.

However, all that said.... I started these as small images because I am using them to experiment with alcohol gel transfers. A technique described in a book called "Digital Alchemy" by Bonny Lhotka.... that was recommended to me by KarenM. My thanks go out to her.

Hi Barbara... yes, it's an inspirational book. We both can thank KarenM for passing on the recommendation.

Thanks for your comments.
