I really love this, it is actually along the lines of something I've tried and failed at about a million times. Congrats on a great job!

Magnificent. not a thing i would suggest changed....
i love the stylization and control of your line- how you designed it and drafted it, just beautiful.

on a personal note, i agree with xerielle. Just excellent to me...

It makes me feel as though she is staring, searching for something- the lines lead me through it, engage me on this same search, while the subtle value shifts and blending (Which are SUPERB) manage to create yet more interest. this piece really excites me; and the scale! So large, it must be quite powerful in person.

I say again, Magnificent.

PS: I love your achromatic work.... even though this is the only sample thus far, i think it's a beautiful exampe. just beautiful.

Ronin - serious image here. I like it very much. I cannot say the same for your title - it implies a comic sentiment which I do not feel and which detracts from the drawing for me. I find it ironic I would react this way given that I love cartoons and humour in art.

and she saw sadness
and to her surprise sadness was looking back at her
and sadness saw surprise
simultaneously assessing
the grin and grimace
the gaze and glare
exchanging realizations of selves like a
winded pinwheel mirrored

Theo_N - thanks for the comments. the title was intended to convey some kind of an awakening on her part. like when you realize that your not the nice person you thought.......but you can now for the first time.........do something about it, because your really seeing yourself. so no humor intended.

ZOTMA - exactly. well pretty damn close. :p

Rosic - thanks for looking.
