View Full Version : Something a little different.

Something a little different for show and tell. Many years ago, I did hundreds of 5 x 7 inch or smaller, abstract and whimsical paintings, all long sold. A fun period in my art career. In looking over my CD collection, a few paintings caught my eye and I thought it would be interesting to re-do some with scratchboard.
"Mother Love" and "Woe".

The difference between changing the subject from colour to black and white is that of a sudden they have a different meaning and intention than what I had originally intended when painting them up the first time. For example, the "Woe" piece in colour was bright with face in reds and yellows, looking somewhat alien, but in black and white it comes up more sad looking.

I may do up a few more, beats the boredom right now of scratching up animal hair.

Ooh. Very Picassoesque. Lovely.

I really like these, and you've used changes in style for the different areas very well.
