Just experimenting here- I want to do an acrylic painting of a ballet dancer looking out the window and I'm using photoshop as an ideas area to try out things before I actually paint it.

Good idea Katie! I like this concept the only crit I have is she seems rather hemmed in by the curtian on the right. Takes away the emphasis from your dancer.

I did a little crop job to show you the difference, hope that does not offend you. I try and keep the subject the main point of interest. I like your concept very much.

Hi Kate, I think this would make a great painting, Barbara is right though the curtains are taking over the main focus of the picture. :)

Hey thanks my friends- Barbara you can do that any time you like :) I like the brush strokes you did on the window too. I've sketched another 3 different ones in my sketch book with pencil I might photograph them and put them on to see which one you all like the most.

Cool, the brush strokes were just to make her lovely head stand out a bit. :)

Here are another couple of sketches- it's still not what I want yet- I might have to do it digitally again and try some filters etc. I want to paint this on a decent size canvas so want to get the concept right before I start slapping paint around. :) http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/20-Feb-2011/202891-Ballet_seated_1.jpg
Thanks for looking and making suggestions I love it when you do.

Well I've settled on the second sketch and I added some brush strokes and textures. I am going to try and paint her with acrylic this week. :)
