View Full Version : Red-Eyed Green Tree Frog

Hello everyone, this is the first thread I've posted on WC in a long time. I've lost myself to studying and reading rather than contributing to the discussions. This was a practice board for me. Practice for using color and also for rendering a somewhat smooth surface and I can tell you that I find fur so much easier. I don't quite have the hand of the cross hatching that so many of you are experts at. Anyway, I'd like to have your thoughts on this colorful liitle guy.
5X7, and I used the Ampersand inks.
Thanks for looking,

Amy...its soooo. Nice and small too!.. I think it could use one more layer of color...yellow...then pick out a couple places to add some pure white scratches for highlights ... thanks for posting this beauty.

Good cross hatching is simply an accumulation of boards, doing it over and over again. I'm definitely not there with it yet. I think for a first on smooth textures this is really good, but the colouring is tremendous!! That totally does it for me.

Colorful little guy...very nicely done, especially for a first smoothie! Rodman gave a good suggestion.

Thank you everyone. Rodman, I have the board sprayed already, but I also have several other photos I got of this friendly little guy which I plan to use for practice. I shall consider your advice with those.
Thank you Harry, I love frogs particularly because their eager expressions always make me smile too. :)
