Hi fellow SB artists. As suggested to me in Wildlife forum I am posting my SB works here too. They are my first - Tranquility being first in my life - and I already love SB so much I am gathering money to buy more scratchboards. It's unknown medium in my country so I doubt it will be ever available so I need to get a lot of money to order.
Anyways. For Tranquility I had help from Heather Lara who is excellent SB artist. She helped me get started. Shadows is done without any help. I attached some WIP shots from both works if anyone's interested or has anything to critique. I know I messed up some things. I used diluted ink to push shadows back in both works, used with paintbrush as I don't have an airbrush. Both are Ampersand scratchbords, 5x7 inches.

Thank you ^_^ I was afraid to post these as I see so many amazing SB works here. I feel a bit more confident now which always helps, especially with new technique.
Allan - I'm curious myself where I'll go with SB but I'm definitely hooked :D

I think Olga uses a stitching program to stitch her photos together and then uploads them. Great idea. I have one called Raserstitch. It's really cheap to download from memory and you just stitch your pics together and then upload them.

Very nice. Don't worry about using a paintbrush to apply your ink. We use all sorts of things...not everyone uses an airbrush.

Rodman, Harold, Angela, Marcia, Karen - thanks so much! There will be more I'm sure, two boards left then I have to wait till some money comes to me :D

Lesley - actually I'm experienced Photoshop user (graphic design, digital painting, advanced photo-editing - that's my job at the zoo) so I use Photoshop to combine scans to show WIPs. I also use it to combine scans of large artworks when I make multiple scans area by area, overlaying each other for better end result.

Cathy - thanks sooooo much, I admire your art so much and so your comment means a lot to me.

For first works in a new medium, these are wonderful! :) Like everyone else here, I look forward to watching your work evolve as you continue to explore this medium. It took me quite a few boards until I had a set technique down, and even now I find that it is constantly changing and growing. That's the joy of art, one never stops experimenting and learning.

You're off to a great start already with what can be a quite tricky medium! Keep up the great work!

Thanks, Pamela :) I'm working on a macaw now, 5x7 inches again, then I have a wolf planned for 8x10in scratchboard and after that... well, time will pass until I get enough money to get boards :D but hopefully not too long to forget how to scratch

Jenny, thanks, so much ^_^

 you make me laugh..."forget to scratch" when your first pieces look like these two, forgetting is not a danger as it seems to be engrained in your DNA!
