I am SO happy with this set! I love that darned color, and a few times I've almost gotten it to not devit on me, here and there. Yesterday I got obsessive and after a few trial spacers I got bigger, then went for the whole enchilada!

I noticed a neat effect when setting up the bubble eyes. When you dot the EDP with white and let it melt in, you get a little clear space in the center. I made another set today, and just stopped at the white dots. I'll see later if it worked, and letcha know.

Wow! Karen those are gorgeous! I've only worked in Bullseye, so I don't know the EDP challenge first hand, but I understand this is quite an accomplishment. They are wonderful, great color combination too!

Nice Job...doesn't it feel good when you tame it! ;-)

The biggest obstacle to overcome using my sweet dreamy purple ;-) is to not let it intimidate you. It WILL devitrify. It's ok...as long as it doesn't devit on clear, it causes some pitting when that happens...If you see some devit...finish your bead and let it cool...then introduce it into the flame so that the outside of the bead glows...start heating on one side of the mandrel and move the heat from one side to the other ...don't let it get too hot...the devit will melt in as you go...Try very hard not to heat and cool your purple too much...When I started lampworking last year I bought a lot of purple and didn't touch it again until last summer because the devit overwhelmed me...I gave up...
don't GIVE UP...YOU CAN tame it...and then it will purr like a pussy cat! purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ;-):cat: :cat: :cat:

Karen,
I noticed that dot in the middle recently also...Isn't it interesting what that color can do...many surprises.
Nice, nice beads!Ann

Nice beads!!! I love the pink on there!

I gave up on EDP for now, I'm sure it will be a bit before I am not mad at it anymore.. every time I make a bead with it, I have a mass of devit on either side of the bead on the ridge of the pucker.. as a matter of fact I was mad enough at it that I threw the last beads that I made with it away.

Those are just fantastic, you really did tame that color. Guess I better take all my rods back out of the trash and start over, lol! Thanks for the inspiration, they are gorgeous.

What a beautiful color combination!

If you ever decide to get rid of them, it's nowhere near my birthday but I could go ahead and celebrate it early!

:D

Seriously, love the colors!

Karen, honestly, Zoe is a complete SUCKER for purple.....you could probably charge her an arm and a leg for them and her only question would be, "Would you prefer right, or left?".
