Hi everyone - I'm looking for some advice concerning pastels and pastel pencils. How do you sharpen them? What are your favorite brands?

Hi Teach..... Ive enclosed this link...... as someone else had already asked the same question....... as for me personally I use Faber-Castell, not tried any others.... and was told always to use one of those one sided razor blades to sharpen them .... hope you will find the link useful

Well....I don't really use pastel pencils for anything but drawing in the beginning stages and those I just sharpen with either an xacto knife or a carpenter's sharpener. The hardest of my pastels, Nupastels, I sharpen to a point with an xacto knife and sandpaper.

Hi Karen and Dark_Shades-
Thanks for the link and the advice. I feel more confident using my pencils and pastels now. I think I'll try the exacto and the sandpaper first.
