Hi everyone, here is a new painting I just finished. I decided to take a break from the series I was working on because I had a need to paint a sunflower. Anyway hope you enjoy.
Whole painting is acrylic and is on canvas
20" x 20"

I JUST LOVE IT!!
its amazing how it looks so 3D like you could lift it right off the paper.. The subtle shadow below the flower is just perfect!!
You realy have a steady hand to make all these straight lines and notes.
Excellent work Ian, I expected no less!!
Wonderful work and detail.

Thanks so much. The lines are tough and tedious......but worth it.
This piece is not really part of the series.....but similar I guess. :)

This and your "Sonata" painting are very fine examples of trompe l'oeil.
Wonderfully executed and your patience with exacting detail is to be commended.

Awesome Trompe l'oeil! Belongs in a museum. Wish I could see it in person. Outstanding!

Thank you so much everyone. I am really embracing the Trompe l'oeil genre. I enjoy it very much.

Beautiful, the paper really sets off the flower and makes it appear even more colourful :D
Wonderful painting. I particularly found the way you painted the background paper with shadows and crinkles amazing. Not to mention all the fine detail through out! Doug
Such beautiful detail. That's one of my favourite pieces to play so I really enjoy your use of it.
