Hi everyone, here is a new painting I just finished. I decided to take a break from the series I was working on because I had a need to paint a sunflower. Anyway hope you enjoy.

Whole painting is acrylic and is on canvas

20" x 20"

I JUST LOVE IT!!
its amazing how it looks so 3D like you could lift it right off the paper.. The subtle shadow below the flower is just perfect!!
You realy have a steady hand to make all these straight lines and notes.
Excellent work Ian, I expected no less!!

Thanks so much. The lines are tough and tedious......but worth it.

This piece is not really part of the series.....but similar I guess. :)

Hi, Ian
This and your "Sonata" painting are very fine examples of trompe l'oeil.
Wonderfully executed and your patience with exacting detail is to be commended.

Beautiful, the paper really sets off the flower and makes it appear even more colourful :D

Wonderful painting. I particularly found the way you painted the background paper with shadows and crinkles amazing. Not to mention all the fine detail through out! Doug
