GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: At the Cypress where the Souls Hang Out
Year Created: 2002
Medium: Oil
Surface: Board
Dimension: 18 x 24 inches
Allow digital alterations?: No, please :)

MY COMMENTS:
one of a series of black and white, all done on black gesso. It's been a learning experience for me. This one took on a life of its own.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
what do you see? does it do anything for you? any composition problems/

like gdfather's component souls here it is the bark of a tree made up of soulecules. His are a bit more escher-ish, yours are sensitive and spacious.

thanks for stopping in Jerry. Do you think it looks too much like el's work? I love his stuff, but I wasn't trying to copy him. The little figures just sort of happened..... It's not getting much of a response on the boards. Maybe that's why?

no, not too much,
it's fun finding simmilarities - as a cross pollination of ideas is inevitable even welcome.

the quiet I relate to pre-chistmas uncertainties.
the exhaustion of shopping or thinking about it or avoiding it.
the social imperatives, and some busy painting being priority #1 which is the honourable excuse .

then again, sometimes higher contrast elicits responses from even the unwilling browsers.

the movement in your souls, special as white. good choice. I really think this would be awesome in person. full of energy too. I wouldnt be able to stop myself from a splash of yellow or red. :D
its a good play of people.

Thanks guys. I'm thinking this might actually be a whole lot better really big. But I can't do really big right now (ahhhhh someday.... such a beautiful day.....) Thanks for popping in, though. I really really appreciate it.
