For those of you that don't live where there are hurricanes..the reference photo was taken from the air looking down at the hurricane. Hurricanes have an "eye". I don't live where there are hurricanes now..but I did for many years. Powerful winds and heavy rains..thankfully we never had any damage from one..although many did.
Previously posted in the watercolor forum. Painted with Winsor Newton watercolors on Arches 9 x 14.

spirals show up so many places and this is one of them...i like this and yes i have seen the aerial pics of hurrianes and you nailed it, in fact i saved some in order to use them to paint from...great movement and colors, thanks for posting.

Thanks for all of the replies! This is as close as I like to be to a hurricane also! Painting it was fun though. :)
