View Full Version : Jacob, our little miracle.

Hi, while I'm on here I thought I'd show the progress on my next portrait.
I stayed with the 5"x7" because I already have paper laying here for that.
Jacob was born 3 months premature and weighed 2lbs. 1 oz. when he was born. He has since grown to be a very lively and intelligent young man for all his 7 years now.
I promise I will soften that shadow along his nose. :)
Looking good so far. Looks to me like he just came out of the pool, tossled hair and a BIG smile to show how much fun he had.

Thanks, Anne. Yes, he had been swimming at his cousin's birthday party.
Here's an update. I'll wait to see what you think before I say it's done. :)

Looking good. Looks like the shadow of the hair on the forehead is a bit heavy at this stage, but things are still evolving...
Congratulations, he looks like a great kid.

Thanks, Marcio. Yes, I felt it as soon as I laid it on there that the shadow was a wee too strong. I'm just giving it a day to sit and let me look at it with fresh eyes and then make adjustments.
I appreciate the feedback.

I really like the close up and the composition! That smile is dazzling! This really catches a sense of his personality. Very nicely done!

Oh, Todd! You've touched my heart here! and my heart & joy is with you!
My Rachel Mae too is just such a miracle, born exactly 2 pounds 1 ounce also; also exactly 3 months premature! My, how you've touched my heart of hearts here. Rachel Mae was born perfectly formed, simply tiny, and is now also beautifully perfectly formed at 34 years old. Hope it's OK I added my miracle joy with yours as I'm sure we share mutual feelings of gratitude & awe.
Your Jacob truly is destined for greatness and so beautiful & handsome & blessed as well!
Your artwork is super.

Gladys, thank you so much. You have such a wonderful way with words.
Yes, touched in the heart is a great way to put it and very ironic the similarities between our own experiences.
Glad to hear your story of Rachel Mae. We are truly blessed, aren't we.
Peace to you,
