GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: Harris Hawk
Year Created: 2002
Medium: Oil
Surface: Board
Dimension: 18 x 16
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
This is a commision for a falconer of his harris hawk.

Please note that the colours and contrast are a little out - particularly the light area on the beak appears burnt out. Background is really very dark green, not black.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Are there areas I could have improved upon with a simple portraite like this?

Does the bird look like it has character?

I still have a little more work to do on glazing the light areas before it is finished any more suggestions appreciated before it's delivered to the owner.

Beautifully painted. Yes, it has a lot of character. I would have loved to have seem the entire bird as the composition but only because it's painted so well. It could be due to the fact it is a digital copy, but the white area of the beak looks a little flat, I can't tell if there is a reflection or not. Other than that, very impressive!

Hi Dhesse,

Thanks for the great comments, I think the white - flat area on the beak is caused by the digital camera, they really seem to have trouble getting both darks and lights correctly exposed, sorry about that.
