Hi, Robert told me about this a few days ago. It sounds like fun. I haven't been on Wetcanvas for a long time due to no computer and also feeling shy about being here. But I have a computer again and remember this place being a very friendly, supportive place to socialize which I miss.

I like to do detailed drawings so perhaps a drawing per day won't happen but drawing itself could on a piece to be done over a few days. I think I saw the other day an empty sketchpad.

Methinks this is good. I miss art and being around artists in an active creative setting.

Yorky said that we can't do one page more than once so you may have to wait a few days for the first drawing.

But, not to worry.

I have a doll in my room just asking to be drawn...

PS I just found a bound sketchbook. It has 82 pages. The theme is "The Lost, Not Wanted, or Old". It's things I find or dream up of. I have to fill this up in a month? I'm a fulltime student and I run a business. But I'll try...

Glad you have stepped into the madhouse with the rest of us - it's a LOT of fun and YES we are a supportive bunch. That is what makes this place soooooo great!!!!!!

Yorky said that we can't do one page more than once so you may have to wait a few days for the first drawing.

That's only for repeating FINISHED paintings, not WIPS (Works in progress), so you can show us what you have achieved each day!!!!!

Looking forward to your works and journal!!!

Glad you're joining in, Diana! I'm from PA originally (Bloomsburg, central PA) but moved out to the Pacific NW several decades ago. Looking forward to your sketches.

Yorky said that we can't do one page more than once so you may have to wait a few days for the first drawing.

I think this is a misunderstanding. What I said was post all your sketches in the same sketchbook in the same thread so as to keep the number of threads down. When you add more sketches to that sketchbook find the original thread and post them in a reply. This will bring the thread to the top of the pile again.

The warm welcome all of you gave brings tears to my eyes. I forgot there are nice places on the Internet. I'll do something now and hope that my new scanner works on Windows 7.

Whew! That was an event! I wasn't sure if the scanner would work with Windows 7. Now that I know this thing called posting art online works for me with the equipment I have I'll post more. This would have been done on last Sunday but it felt so scarey to do this that I put it off.

Now I can sleep. I'll finish the drawing tomorrow. I'm not a night owl. It's late.

I hadn't thought of "cute", but now that I look at it, it does look cute. Thank you all for your comments.

I did some drawing in my sketchbook today and tonight. They were more for practise and loosening up. It's too late to scan and post. I'd rather keep it private and develop it later. A lot of times I do studies just to study something like hands like tonight. Or architectural details like yesterday. I was at an historical building that had towers so my studies came from there of windows. I need to practise cylinders to get this right. Sometimes on site drawing doesn't work out.

Lovely drawing of the doll Diana - did you finish it or just move on?

dianapotts
10-10-2010, 05:18 PM
Hi Christine,

Or are you Xina?

Anyway, I am intending to finish the drawing. I have also moved on. I went on a day trip yesterday and found things to draw. I prefer to work at home actually. In public places I lose some privacy and people want to look through my journal. Best if I work at home.

I'm sorry, I at first saw Joan T's post and didn't realise there are others.

Yes, I will be doing more. I like to work in this style and am planning on making some to put on eBay.

Thank you for all the kind remarks.

I am soooo tired. I should do one tonight, but my day was long and I am hitting near dropping. Right now I am drooping.
