Recent paintings

Hi all,
Recently my style seems to have changed a lot. Please take a look at the new paintings and let me know what you think. All are acrylic on canvas and measure about 90cm x 70cm

I really like these. The style is cohesive and the colors work. The composition is nice also. the lettering detracts from the work in my opinion.

your style is very uninhibited, I like that. I am undecided about the lettering, as a graphic it would seem very natural. (Just the graphic artist in me) i guess.

The lettering in the top one works well as a compositional element. I think the other two would be better without. However, the lettering in none of them overshadows the nice handling of paint and stylistic cohesion. They are all nice works to look at.

Hi Pixels,

Thanks. I have been thinking about the lettering and feel that they are integral to the painting. It expresses the "something" in me. The paintings are not meant to be just pretty pictures.

I appreciate your input. This is the first time others are seeing my changed style paintings and am greatful for your comments.

Very interesting. Abstract paintings don't need to have explanations on the canvas though, and they usually seem to detract which they do here. Easy to remedy. :)
