Hi ya'll! I've been continueing in the style that I started here a few months back. Here's the latest in my series. It's a pentych called Urban Sky. (would that be the correct term for 5? LoL)
It's 45" long composed of five 12x9" paintings. However, I prefer them to be hung with about a 2" space which would bring the total to 53" wide. Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas, the edges are painted black to be hung without a frame.

Here is a large pic of the center painting.

I've never heard of any -tych higher than a triptych. But why not coin a new term?
In any case, I like this. Nice carry through from panel to panel, lots of interesting shapes, nice color, good work. :D

Thanks Johnny. I enjoy the color as well. It's very relaxing for me, and yet energetic at the same time.
And thanks Aurora! Coin a new term, eh? LoL I guess I'll have to!
Thanks Nina. :D
Wow! Thanks Jolie! That it caught your eye on eBay speaks volumes to me! Everything there is so vast it's really hard to catch the eyes.
Thanks all. It sounds like there is no official term so I don't have to worry about calling it a pentych and being wrong. LoL Your responses made me feel better about this piece. I was starting to wonder. :D

These are wonderful! I really like the way they all work together. I've seen fiber pieces with five before but don't recall what term was used if any. Nice variety from piece to piece here and the colors are vibrant. A fun piece! My hubby would love all the blues :)

Thanks Di! A fiber peice would be interesting! I don't think I've seen any "tych" kinda works done in fiber art.
Thanks Cindy! I wish I had room on my walls to hang them all. I've only been able to see them virtually hang together. =)
