Here is an update on the scratchboard of the grizzly that I am working on. Unfortunately I haven't had a lot of time to work on it since I am in the peak of my midterms for college! Hopefully the next post of this will be a finished one! BTW this piece is 11"x14" and my scanner cuts off the bottom a little.

Scratchboard is impressive. My students are enjoying it..and we have used cheap cheap paper thus far. I actually ordered some expensive coated clay-board for next year for the ambitious and serious.

I enjoy it once in awhile myself.

I came across a couple sites online of other wildlife artists. Wish I could have found some of Alderson Magee....I did find a few that are going back into their scratches and washing in delicate layers of color.
