Greetings Fellow Artists,
This is my first posting to the group. Seems pencil renditions of the equine subject are hot right now, so here is my sample of pencil work. Love this place!
Sincerely,

Could hardly wait to open your topic! Very, very nice!! I usually like a little more "dish," but that's just me, gotta do the flared nostrils et al. Is this Padron??? (One of my absolute favorite faces http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif)

Sheri,
I especially like how you did the textures and shading on the horse. What pencils was this done with and how? http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/eek.gif

Hey, Sheri, nice to see you here http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Lovely, lovely Arab -- looks like a palomino. Padron? Hey, even I know that name and I'm not an Arab buff http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks for the kind words on my art.

I used derwent pencils on Bristol paper.
Also tortillions for blending. That's the great thing about pencils...fast turnout of art...gotta love the medium.

As far as who it is...just an Arabian shaped horse. I looked in an Arabian magazine, was inspired by all those beautiful horses and wanted to create a work...thus resulting in this horse.

This Forum makes me wanna pick up my pencils and draw some more. Just delivered my very first child, (at 38 years of age) only 9 weeks ago. Slowly creeping back into my art once more. Miss it so much. I am making a comeback though...look for more art from me soon...

Keep on drawing your beautiful horses!

Except for the child http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/wink.gif, we sound like kindred spirits! Even use the same mediums, Derwent and bristol. I just flip through magazines and see something that is so beautiful I just have to try and draw it. And yes, WC has got me going again too. I'm afraid when your baby gets a few months older, you might have a little trouble there LOL! Now if we can just get Roan going....

Hi Sheri, Nice to see you here too. It is good to share with other equine artists. Hope all is well with the baby so far. They grow so fast! Wow and at ten weeks they really start to get a personality. We found out yesterday that we are having our fourth boy! OH BOY! Well, I know how to do boys! I have been kind of sitting back this winter and wouldn't you know it, I get swamped right before the baby is due. We are almost the same age (39) and it gets harder top focus on art.

PS. Do you have something to put in the EAG show? I am trying to decide if I want to submit something. I don't have a whole lot of originals. Most of my work is commissioned.
