OK, well I imagine that everyone will have a different opinion on this one...but what brand of color pencils are people using? Is there a difference between brands? The ones that I am using now are actually swiss imports and are watercolor color pencils...but I've just use them as color pencils. I can't remember the brand name and am not at home. I like the results, but they won't change the color after a couple of layers are piled up. I would like to buy some "regular" color pencils to play with. Please let me know any recomendations or negative thoughts on any brands in the US.

TIA

I use Prismacolor and Verithin...

I like the painterly look, so I blend totally. The Verithin is harder so I use them to blend the same color of Prismacolor. I blend a lot with PC white also.

I'm a die hard fan of Polychromos by Faber-Castell. It's a german brand. I find they are the best pigmanted pencil on the market. I used to use the Berol Prismacolor's but had a lot of problems with them being too waxy. On one piece I did which was using a lot of black and dark brown's it keept blooming (wax coming to the surface clouding the image. I have never had this problem with the Polychromos.

I use Prismacolor. Why? Because the full set was on sale for 50% off. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
