Joan,

Welcome to WetCanvas!

Darn it, I'm all excited to see your Auld One! Would you please repost it without spaces in the file name? Oh, and the tags should just be . Going to go look at your site http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

AHA! I thought your name looked familar! I've been through all the Equine Art Guild member web sites and I LOVE yours. Your portraits are absolutely gorgeous, Joan.

I think of all the dog portraits you have on your site, my favorite is how you portrayed that wonderful little Corgi. His face is so -- Corgi!

No favorite horse portrait, they're all too good to pick one. Yours is the type of work I'd really love to produce, but I that means I'll have to buckle down and do more horses.

That Fresian is only my second horse painting, though I drew horses all the time as a child and teenager.

Hi All; I'm a new member, and decided to post this new image "The Auld One", after looking at the lovely freisen-type horse by Roan. I specialize in equine imagery in my paintings, and this fellow really caught my attention. It is done on LaCarte paper, with Unison, Sennelier and Rembrandt pastels.

Hi Joan, glad to see you made it here. I don't believe I have seen this piece. It is very nice. Guess it is time to start cruising the EAG websites again. I just posted my last painting too. I am almost finished with a hunter jumper. Had to put him down for a while but finally got back to it. I just have to figure out how to handle the fence now. I took the horse out of the ring and put him in an autumn setting. My paint is too wet to work now so I have to let it dry a bit.

Patricia,

Any chance of seeing some progress pictures as you develop your painting? I'd love that and it's so educational!

Hi Roan, this particular painting is a bit too far for that but I have 2 progressions of some watercolor paintings I did last year.

This new one is an oil and I work wet in wet a lot which makes it difficult to do a progression. Now if I had a digital camera.......my wish list keeps getting bigger. The MSN community is slow to load but I don't have the progressions up on my other site yet. I wanted to reorganize and resize the graphics before puting them up.
