I needed to put the macaw away for a bit, so I tried my hand at watercolour. Not my very first, but the others I did years ago were out of a pattern book. This one isn't. YAY!

Thats' ice, btw, on the branch and berries. Just in case you can't tell. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/wink.gif

Bev:
I sure can tell its ice!! We certainly have had plenty of subject material available as far as snow and ice are concerned lately. I'm in upstate NY and we are expecting a whopper of a storm this weekend. Nice job. I work in watercolor.

Really nice, Bev...I love the way you tossed off the background to simplify the piece & accentuate the chickadee.
It really works!
Do more of these!!! http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/wink.gif

Thankyou all for your kind responses. I had fun with this.
I really love birds, all birds, and realize that from the time I was a small girl, I have shared a fascination with them. Everything from raising abandoned clutches of blackbirds, to birdwatching and logging species, to now my work with parrots.
Darrell, yes, get painting some of those chickadees! I live in an area where no matter how hard I try, I just can't get the birds to visit the feeders. Just too many houses and not enough trees. Take advantage of the nature you have around you. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/wink.gif

Judy, you know what? I think I might just do that!
