Wow......I really like this.......it is so spontaneous and yet you see all the detail. I think it is much nicer than Bateman...its an Animal!
(I love Batemans work btw.)

Very nice, animal.

The looseness of the brushwork and shapes gives it a pleasant Asian feel.

I like it.

I have to agree with the above posts. It has a freedom and spontenaity (sp)that is new to your style.

I realize in earlier post, you were laboring to "get things right". Now, since your have done your homework, the rewards are coming back to you.

I am guessing you had more fun doing this one. It shows. Keep it up!

Thanks BillieDawn for your comments. This one took me about 30 minutes to do as a quick study of R. Bateman`s.

Well there you go animal!! Great job! I especially love the feet. and the fluttery feeling to the wings and the shadows under the bird but still plenty of color and reflected light there.

Animal:
I just want to add that I happen to have a couple books of Bateman's (on loan from a friend) and I looked at his Goldfinch. You definitely made this one your own! Yours looks much more animated and in motion than his! In yours I definitely get the feeling of flight and the balancing motion of the tail and that this bird is looking for the best place to land. His is more static hanging in midair.
