I started this off in PhotoBrush by using the Psychedelic Paint Filter and then the distort tool. It was then transferred to Corel PhotoPaint and embossed.

 ~ Good one Rob... ~

Thanks for the "mind jog" by posting this manipulation.

While some filters, actions and modes *appear* to only produce major changes in images, such as what you've shown us with this one, Rob...I found that many of them have uses we would never dream of using on anything less completely changing the look of a photo.

The EMBOSS command, or mode, is one of those things we would rarely engage.

I've found that the emboss tool in several of the programs I'm currently working with does a GREAT job (if you can get as MODE for a brush) to help with accentuating shadows and edges on "realistic" types of images, also.

Which goes to prove that sometimes, a command or feature that sounds like a "special effect" really does have a place in mainstream photo enhancement. I'll try to remember to post an example of how I've used that technique a little later.

Thanks for the "nudge" to recall this method, Rob. :)

I'll say. Rob, just think of the money you could have made in the 70's designing wallpaper. :)
