This is a male Hooded Merganser done on Canon Sketch 9x12 done with pencil(Hb,2B)

I like the eye especially....nice job!
As for the pose....just a consideration, there are stereotypes the market locks into in wildlife art. With hoodeds..artists typically paint either the crest/crown in a fully upright courtship ritual display, or fully laid back as if just diving or about to dive for food.
Pretty decent job on the bill too! Keep up the progress!
