This is a friendly dog I had to paint because his expression trapped me! http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif
I have tried to change the background but I seem to be really involved with the Australian colour scheme and kept coming back to it. I got to the point it was too stressful to change him much because I had gotten attached to the doggie......ugh
Hope you like him http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

I love his expression...ya'll keep showing the lovely pooches and I'm going to have to do my lovely red-nosed adventure hound.

I did one quick, 15 min., WC sketch of her one night, laying with her back to me...My son calls it my dead dog painting. But, I did get her color and made notes, that was what I was focusing on any way.

Keep on showing, you all are gonna get me going yet. I am drawn to animal painting but haven't had the courage, still doing still lifes to develop my skills.

Sculpi,
I love the expression too! I also recognise those Aussie colours and I like them.

He's gorgeous Leila, such an intelligent expression, you've really captured the spirit of the Blue Heeler. I love the colours too.

Thank you De http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif
No, he was more or less a practice piece as I really want to do this sort of thing for a living someday......that would really fill some dreams. I have just been looking for interesting photos and trying them out to see what can be done.....I think my dogs are next http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

If you need interesting dog photos, go to a dog show and visit the grooming area and start snapping!! Or if you can stand it, try the local animal shelter. Lots of soulful expressions there.
