Hi-I just found this site on wet canvas and I am thrilled to see a place dedicated for animal art. I have always loved to draw animals. I am going to try and post a drawing on this to see if it works and I am really looking forward to looking at everyone's wonderful animla art.

Ok-I think I need some help to post a picture. Is there a way to do it without typing in a url address? Most of my illustrations are scanned as jpg. I see the post picture above this typing area but I am not sure about typing in an address. Thanks for any help.

If you go to the main page and click on critique centre (think thats what it is called) you can upload your pics there, just make sure you don't have any spaces in the title in your URL.

Also full upload instructions somewhere in new user forum.

Looking forward to seeing your work.

Take care

Hello Becky, and welcome to Wetcanvas!

Here is a useful site about uploading images in Wetcanvas.

I also had a look at your website and Pooka is the most adorable thing I've ever seen! I am trying to improve my skills with coloured pencils (I have only just started using them) and you have inspired me! http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Can't wait to see more of your work.

Hey thanks everyone for the useful information. I am trying it now and I am hoping there will be an Orangutan on the bottom of this notice.

I love working on Pooka and thanks for the nice comments on it. He is a joy to work on and I am actually hoping to do a children's book eventually.

Again-Thanks for everyone's help.
Becky

I am trying again and hope this works. I know I am doing it right but for some reason it is not showing up. Sigh.

Love the orangutan!! Really beautiful. Has a graphics quality to it. Watercolor? I work in watercolor myself.

Oh dear, I see I have two pictures of my orangutan. I don't know how I did that. Thanks for the nice words. Actually, this piece was done in colored pencil. I love working in that media and watercolor too.

Pooka,
I was wondering, what colours you use to get the blacks on your puffin illustrations? It looks like a mixture of dark and light blues, and maybe a little black?
Thanks for any help http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi-

I use a dark blue and then put black over that. I sometimes use a brown too in certain areas to make it look a little different (like on his feathers) I usually do this to give the character depth. I learned in college that every object is more than one color and it is so true if you look at something. I hope this helps.
