Wanting to draw and paint wildlife(in acrylics)and draw them I was wondering what a beginning wildlife artist should put on a Christmas list http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Why that's easy, animal. A trip to Africa!!

Seriously, why don't you spend some time at Chapters and see what books you might really find useful? Then, either ask for a gift certificate to the store, or put the book on your list. Also, a gift certificate to an art supply store, or a set of acrylics or other paint, or coloured pencil set? They have some wonderful gift sets at Christmas time. Maybe a French Easel, to get you outside painting? Sketchbooks, pencils, pens and charcoal?
A supply of masonite and some gesso. Brushes.
The list is endless.

Thanks Bevl,
I already have lots of supplies( gesso, some masonite,I have some student acrylics and coloured pencils, brushes. I think a French Easel would be too expensive http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Listen to bev animal, not much to add there..there are lots of great books on painting wildlife. Check out Chapters online too. I have bought many books there, most are delivered in a couple days..and wildlife books are usually pretty cheap...put a few on your list.

animal, it sounds like santa was pretty good to you this year http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif !!!! That organizer table that rolls around sounds nifty. I wouldn't mind having something like that myself....lol

Santa brought me a big set of colored pens, and a huge box of material remnants for my fibers work. I am going to be a very busy gal for the next several months http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Great presents, Animal!

I got the Daniel Greene video and Play Snappy video snapshot thingy. It plugs into your parallel port and lets you take still captures of video.

Apparently there is another present that is being sent UPS. It's small. Hrm. I wanna know what it is!
