I've just been busy :D I've been doing a *lot* of lurking lately and havent been saying a word the whole time lols. I have also been off in my own little world working on stuff. It seams this week everyone has one of my limbs and is trying to pull me off with them all at once.

Anyways its looking awesome y'all :D I've been enjoying looking at the work lately, although always ;)

So yeah I've just been away from my computer most of the time :D I spent a bulk of my time elsewhere from home over thanksgiving, and now i'm playing bass for some metal band *cough* In most recent news, me and dave just broke the computer chair. The chesterfield is much more comfy anyways :D Canadian der eh. So hopefully I'll get back around more soon :D In the mean time, just to hold myself over, here is some of the crap I've been working on. 2 large oil paintings that I haven't had a chance to paint on all week :( wo WIPs all around. oh well.

The first one I got lovely Dave to model form me :D Here's the original sketch for anyone who's curious. http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/03-Aug-2002/twist.jpg
This painting is a little warped from the scan :D I had to do multiple ones and stick them together. I didnt have much patience for that today *g*

And here's his face detail, and YES I did paint it upside down like this- lol- although when you flip the canvas around the painting still works :o

And here is the second one. My scanner/computer really hates this one!!! It is very textural and stuff, and the scanner really did a job on it :o Actually, I don't even know where half of it went - lol the sky scanned completely white when its really rather colourful. Oh well. Somethings will remain a mystery. I have yet to complete this one. I want to add 2 more fairies, and do some fixing, but here is the basic layout.

It is images like these that make me wish I had a digital camera. Also, I had to stitch this one together too, only the dimentions of the canvas were much more happy to work with the dimentions of the scanning bed :cat:

:confused::eek::clap: (don't mind these. I'm just showing dave how the smilies work ;))

Anyways. Both of these are oil on canvas, using a number of different painting techniques. For anyone who remembers my team of perriwinkles, they came with the seaweed I painted in the first one *g*

The first one is 16x20, the second is 24x16. I need to go wack dave with a piilow now. Chow!

Hey Axl,

I was looking at your picture of the faerie (very nice BTW). That is so weird because I've been doing a picture of an elf for the calendar elf project sitting in almost the exact same pose and though I haven't gotten that far yet, I was seriously considering putting her on a large log (cue creepy music). We must've been on the same wave length for a few minutes. :)
You can see it in my progress pics on that project.

Wow Axl!
I love these pictures! The colours are really 'tied together' on them. I can tell you have been painting for a good few years because you have a definite style. I was at your website the other day and was very impressed. Your pictures look like yours (hope you know what I mean lol) And I can't believe you're so young!!! Just imagine what you'll be like in 10 years! Keep it up, girl    I'm gonna hang around and find out :p

Axl! I was wondering where you'd gotten to ... now if we can just get Bobby to wake up, too, we'll be in business. ;)

These are GREAT. The fairy painting is lovely, but I REALLY like that merman. It's such an interesting pose, and you're doing a marvelous job with it. Thanks for posting them!!!
