Running with the horses

This is a detailed study for a painting I want to do eventually. I want to create the illusion of strenth and motion, but I don't want to set it in the background shown here. I was thinking more along the lines of either a fantasy or futuristic setting.

This looks like a real challenge! Ill be waiting to see your final painting:D Are you going to add more horses? Maybe add them as if part of figure?

I was thinking of pushing the man back and maybe making him into a centaur.

Making him a centaur would be cool, but I really like this composition at it is. I like the desert too. Maybe a distant desert city that has more of a futuristic or fantasy silhouette to it?

I think I like the desert because it makes me think of Arabian horses and also a place where they would be reliant on their horses for travel and transportation of food.

Maybe have a sword strapped to his back?
