I decided NOT to work on my current portrait commission since I'm SICK OF IT! :D

Instead, I took some time tonight to sketch. I was sort of developing ideas for the Calendar Fairies & Elves project and came up with these two. I really like the fairy. I'll be re-doing her in color.

I really like the mermaid also, and I hope you find time to do her in color also. Both are good studies.

Oooh, I like the fairy too. Well I like the mermaid as well, but the fairy is cool, can't wait to see her in color.

:D I always forget that damn BUTT icon too !!!
I think the fairy is my fav too, the mermaid is great, but looks like one that will turn into a bigger pic on down the road> *HINT* lol

Thanks Sass, Melisa, Amy and Redsy. I had fun doing them. I've been doing so many portraits and more formal pieces lately that I'd forgotten how much fun it was to just sit down and start sketching.

Lol! Looks like I'll be working both of these up after I get back in town and finish up my current commission. Hmmm. Or maybe I'll just have to pack up a suitcase of art supplies. :D

I was playing around with color. I'm not great with Photoshop, but I was messing around. I'm not sure whether I'll do her blue-skinned or regular skin tone. When I do it in color, it will be colored pencil for the medium though.
