This is a first of a series of botanical garden paintings I have planned. It's the smallest measuring only 12X28 in. Artisan oils.

Nicely done, and I was pleasantly surprised to see your coloured lead pencil paintings.
If I might ask as an aside,do you also use some 30 some pencils to do a coloured lead pencil portrait?
Will return to your site later on for a thorough look around.
Thank you.

this could be considered a monochrome effort...
I'm definetly going to use the b/w and single color concept.
I look forward to the next one.

Here's a closer look. I wanted to find a similar approach to painting in oil I found with my colored pencil works because I love the process of making the CP works so much. This is a good start and I'm anxious to get into the next painting and find out how I can do better.

Titanium: I probably use about 20 colors for my CP pieces. Some less some more. The faces have about 6 colors I think. I'm a little dyslexic so I try to keep it as simple as I can.

Tommy thank you for the reply it is much appreciated.

Your Artisan looks like my effort in Staedtler [child range, hard pencils ] on canvas.Interesting control of the pigment.

*I am new to C.P. but found that I could produce a reasonable face with 8 or so pencils.I use a few pigments in oil painting as well, but from the books I thought I was doing something wrong.

Titanium: I think Jeremy used 3 colors in this painting. We can make our own rules.
