View Full Version : Quick portrait with 2 colors

This was done from a life model, and took about an hour. The 2 colors I used were Sienna brown and Thalo blue.

Wow, Luna, he has the chiseled look of a Greek god. Very impressive with only two colors too!

i love that you only used 2 colors. i need to do more limited palette work. i get totally seduced by color!

It looks good, Luna ! Do you find it hard to work with a limited palette? and how do you choose what colours to limit yourself to?

Well, I limited my palette only because I knew I only had about an hour to do the painting. If I had more time, I would use a full palette.

I chose those two colors because ones is very cold, and one is very warm. With those two, I could hit a pretty good combination.

Thank you for answering :) I would think by both your answers that you have been doing this for awhile. :) Your comment regarding the cool and the warm colours will stick with me should I ever need to make that decision. Thanks again.
