An attempt at framing a view and perspective.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Only been painting a year and need constructive comments re: the painting; on whether the perspective looks OK, how can the steps be improved, etc. Any helpful comments or criticisms would be welcomed.

I think your perspective looks fine and the technique and use of color are good. A few suggestions, this image really needs so stronger shadows, the direction of light is unclear. My eye gets stuck at the gate, i would like to see the gate opened a little more to help lead me in and so it doesn't have that square look, which I know is correct for that position. I would also love to see a hint of the gate on the other side. Hate to keep harping on the gate but it needs more mass. Looks like its made out of wire right now.
