Everett, how about a visit to our Soft Pastel Learning Center (http://wetcanvas.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=439)? (FYI, ESP= Explore Soft Pastel.)

Have you dipped into our giant thread, "How to Get Started in Soft Pastels" for our newbies (http://wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=392571)?

See if either of those help you...

Hi Everett, Welcome to the Pastel Forum!

Those links Deborah provided are great threads! Be sure to see her "Free Online Book: Landscape Painting in Pastels" which is listed in her signature line.
