New forum

Would anyone like to see separate forums for things like art history, social issues, etc? What would we call them? Ideas? Anyone? http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Don't think we need an Art History forum; most posts about historic things are really about some other issue (social, politcal, existential, etc.).

The "other forum" do need a label; "what is art" and other similar discussions need a home - I agree.

How about "About art", "Art and society", or "Social and political aspects of art".

I would love to see some Art History. I feel so stupid when people are throwing out artist names and I don't have a clue who they are talking about. No, can't take a class at this time, but an occasional explantion after on of Bruin's examples or when someone else mentions a name would be great.

Scott.....sorry, but I have a hard time trying to keep up with all that we have here already. I don't even try to go check the
forums from chat, so am not a good one to
contribute here, but do agree with MSue.

Scott..I think a separate area would be great..that way we can keep those type discussions out of the technical help forums..how about "Aesthetics" or "The Nature of Art" or.."Art Philosophy"?? Msue..don't feel ignorant..the best way to become un-ignorant is to ask questions and let those who know teach you...most of them are delighted to do that..believe me, they do not think less, but more of you , for the questing mind you possess!!!
