Back with some new dwarf studies. Both are inspired by the Art of LOTR book. While the first is after a concept drawing, the second is of a Rhys-Davies photograph.
This is an attempt with markers - I'm trying to get the knack of how to work with these.
C&C as usual very welcome.

Very nice, Jester!
I find markers very hard to work with.

these dwarves have a very middle-earth feel to them... i love it :) you can almost imagine them in the iron hills, or moria...

Thanks everybody for the encouragements.
dtaurins - yeah, me too. But I was so fascinated by the works of Doug Chiang (concept artist from Star Wars) that I just bought some and got started. I haven't acquired neither look nor technique I'm aiming at yet, but I keep trying.

Me too! The Chiang art that is. I loved the costume sketches in the book I bought when The Phantom Menace came out. I tried my markers when I saw those. Very difficult to do without looking really streaky.
