Really gorgeous! What brave souls for taking a baby camping! Great googly-moogly! Just one thing...from the corner of her left(our right)eye to the edge of her face looks a little wide, which might be making her eyes look too small?
'Cuz if'n I measure out her eyes with a pencil, like they done taught me to do in my basic drawing class(LOL!), the eyes measure up.

Sweet! And yes, baby's eyes ALWAYS too small in final art. When you do little ones, make it a RULE to give them bigger eyes than reference portrays! Lovely!

delightful! I love the tilted horizon line too.

Great work. Fascinating perspective makes the baby look like giant baby. Maybe monster baby on the attack!
Thanks Guys :cat:
she had some issues ... fought with the eyes for a bit ... http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/04-Jul-2010/84648-baby_d_eye_fixes.jpg
from what it was .... to, uh, crazy creepy baby ....to toned down crazy baby .... to where it is now
sooo o many little value changes to chase around, i tried to find the most important ones .... sooo many little subtleties, edges, blend zones ... telling dirt from shadow is interesting! ... anyway, there's a fine line between feisty/cute and evil baby alert ... she's gotten maybe a little too cartoony cute? i dunno, calling it final but haven't signed it yet ... tweak thoughts welcome, thanks for looking

I don't think she's cartoony...just cute. She looks very determined. She will not be denied. Great job, IMO!

this is a great drawing; perfect capture of her expression. the only things that need tweaked IMHO are shading to correct her left eye (looks a little sunken) & the right chest (looks protruding/ maybe softening the sharp shadow edge??).
very ambitious taking a baby camping ;)!
thanks ahughes, it was that determined look that inspired the challenge to paint a babe = )
thanks cathaden, i'll have a close look at the eye and chest = )
babies love camping, mine have been going since they were 4 months old ... the fresh air helps them sleep and so long as you can deal with the filth, lol, it's all good = ) ... no crazy, creepy crawly bugs to carry them away in the night around here! this one's a cousins kiddo and she seems to love the 'adventure' too.
