Okay, you got me......

ME the absolute realist has been lured by the new forum to attempt a fairy pic....Well I think she's a fairy...

I have two daughters (15 & 13) and have had long standing requests for fairies but I always said "I don't do fairies...." Well here it is, don't laugh too hard.....

First one is the line drawing and then I have begun to add some color.....

Hey, you can be a realist here, too! In fact, a great deal of fantasy art is done in a realistic style. I think there's even a term for it - fantastic realism. And your fairy is lovely. :)

What can I say Cap'n, I'm am merely weak flesh.....I just take a little longer than most to loosen up being the rigid control freak that I am.....

Well shucks y'all (I'm still practising my suthern accent!!), thanks for the support and kind words.... Kids, the 15yo I drew it for took one look and yucked all over it saying I should give it to her sister because it has a mans face....:crying: But the 13yo who wanted a pink and blue fairy says she'll happily take it!!! Yay!!:D :D

Yey!! Welcome to our world - lol This is looking really lovely! And as for the realism part - I always think that you can still be a realist while doing fantasy art You just end up giving your artwork a more realistic feel! I'll be back to see more lol :D
