MY COMMENTS:
I made a pile of this stuff last year.. As well as rusted metal sculpture and fu
iture i made some metal paintings. Probably not much to crit here and not realy the forum for it but thought i would show why it is rusted_art and not busted_art

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
the second is one of about 50 paintings i did on wood 2'x2' i bought for a buck each. it was painted using wood stain and my little angle grinder. I think it was developed a bit further than this but this is the image i have of it. It was one of my favorites.

ra...as a young man way back when I loved doing assemblages out of old rusty pieces of metal myself (actually just about anything was grist for my mill) So I have an affinity for these. The work done on wood is really great! was it all the rusted color when finished? I love the rich tones obtained from leather dyes when used on unsealed wood... Have you noted the possibilities with that knothole? Though too far in the background for the paintings perspective it really looks like the face of a clock as one would see in a clock tower! I also want to say how much I have appreciated your crits for myself and the forum as a whole. I have learned.

The wood piece is most interesting and a perfect medium/subject combo.

Thanks Corby. I just saw the knot hole as the moon and never noticed the clock on it. i will dig it out and see if i can do some more on it. I had a lot of fun working on those boards.
