View Full Version : S&t Weekly, May 30 - June 6, 2010

Hi all,
I do hope you will forgive me (A Newbie) for starting this new S&T. I am not even sure if I have done it correctly.
I have been working on making wire sculpted bracelets with faceted stones and thought you might like to see them.
I have been making wire sculpted jewellery for about 4 years now and really love it. I live in Wales in the UK and sell my jewellery and the materials to make them from my website and at craft fairs around Wales.
At the moment bracelets and rings are my passion and faceted CZ stones are a particular favourite. I do also use semi precious cabochons and beads in my work too. I am hoping to make lots more posts and to share with other jewellery makers here at wet canvas.
If I have made a faux pas by starting this post, please forgive me...:)
I hope you enjoy my jewellery.

Sterling silver bracelet twisted and patterned wire band with a faceted lilac CZ stone.

Good grief, Dave, your starting the thread needs no forgiveness -- starting the weekly falls to whoever gets there first! Your work is terrific. I only wish you had larger images so we could see all the detail work a bit better.

Dave - welcome! :) There's absolutely no need to apologise, we're all happy to see the S&Ts, nobody cares who starts them! Your bracelets are awesome, the craftmanship is flawless from what I can tell from the pics (like Diana I'd love to see larger pics, any chance for that?).

:) Thankyou both for the kind welcome.
I used to post a bit on the pastels board about 6 years ago but I discovered jewellery making and have not looked back since.
I have tried to make my pics a bit bigger and I hope that will be okay and that you can see them more clearly.

Sterling silver and 14ct gold filled wire bracelets accented with coloured Niobium wire.
I like the sleek modern look of these bracelets and they are very popular with younger ladies who like to wear two or more at a time.

!4ct gold filled wire bracelet with plain and twisted wire and a faceted topaz CZ stone.
14ct gold filled and sterling silver eternal knot bracelet.

Beautiful, beautiful wire work! What an awesome idea using the niobium wire to add color. Love them. At the moment, my absolute favorite is the eternal knot bracelet. Just devine!

:) Thankyou all for the great comments.
I am happy to be here and to share what I have made with you.
I have a few more here and I hope you like them as well as you liked the others.

Sterling silver braided band bracelet with a blue topaz CZ faceted oval stone.

A Mans sterling silver and blue niobium wire 5 bar gate bracelet.

14ct gold filled and lavender octagon CZ pendant.

A Ladies 14ct gold filled 5 bar gate bracelet.

I have found working with wire to be a very fullfilling hobby and business.
I would reccomend it to both men and women as a form of jewellery making that can bring great rewards. It is not as difficult as you might imagine and uses only a few handtools to achieve amazing effects that can compare with commercial jewellery and in some cases surpass it.
My next post will feature finger rings in many sizes and shapes. :)
