I know that most of you have seen this one before, but I thought I'd put it up again in order to give a shameless plug.

Her leg is a little wonky, but there's an excuse. This piece had no preliminary pencil work and no preliminary planning. It went straight from the pen to the paper. Anyhow, here comes the shameless plug...

This piece inspired me to start a project called Make a Commitment (http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/Projects/browse_details.php?proj_id=211). Many of you joined the project, but some of you may not know about it. A lot of people enjoyed it, so feel free to sign up if you are interested. If you already did the project, feel free to add all those new fantasy-inspired sketches to it. :D ;)

Leanne,
I think this is my favourite of your fairies so far. I really like how she is positioned on the flower. I also really like how you did her eyes.

Thanks Nina, Te, Heather, Murray and Animal.

This is another one of those "one of these days I'm going to work this up into a larger formal piece." I seem to have a lot of those. It seems like I only do the "formal" pieces if they are colored pencil portraits. :(

There just aren't enough toddler-free hours in the day. *sigh*

Thanks Tracy and babys_breath.

I'm hoping to redo her on decent paper one of these days. I don't know if I'll color her or not. It seems that I like to do fairies in black & white. I don't really know why. It just always turns out that way.

Okay first off "WONKY"??? I was cracking up when I read that!! The picture is awsome and I cant wait to see what you come up with next!!!
Redsy:D

It just dawned on me..."WONKY" is a Tigger word!! From Pooh;)
I knew that sounded familiar!

Hehe. Actually, I get wonky from the glass world. When you work with hot glass, the beads or large pipe pieces can get off center or something gets "off." Since you have to complete it and complete it quick, you start doing a sort of field triage. Sometimes you succeed and sometimes you don't. Anyhow, the term to describe those pieces is wonky...wonky base, wonky bead.

Maybe the glass people got the term from Tigger. I'm not sure on that. I just know I've been hearing it for years in reference to blown glass that just isn't quite as intended. :D

I think the glass art forum actually has a "wonky beads" thread somewhere in it.
