While it doesn't look exactly like the ref pic, there are other pics of her (ones that I also loved) in which her face looks fuller...as it does in this one. The thing about the ref pic that really caught my eye was the pose.
Hopefully her parents will approve of the changes I made. :wink2:

Dee excellent work, life in a portrait is not always that easy, you often see the likeness well done but what is more difficult is capturing the breath of a person, you've caught the essence I think, it breathes! Fabulous girl!!

She has an adorable face and the pose is so cute, love her little mouth with the baby teeth showing. Skin colors are fabulous, do you mind telling what skin colors used for her.

do you mind telling what skin colors
The answer is complicated.
The colors I used are:
transparent mixing white
tit white
light portrait pink
yellow ochre
raw sienna
burnt sienna
burnt umber
raw umber
chromium oxide green
light emerald green
cadmium red light
pyrrole red
cobalt blue hue
dioxazine purple
most of the time I thinned with a combination of gloss medium & water so that I had quite transparent glazes
Here's a few of the wip pics

There are bigger differences between the beginning layers than there are between later layers (in which I do more 'fine-tuning')

Dee, I see where it is complicated to say the colors with so many steps, no wonder the skin looks fabulous on this little face. Thanks so much for sharing.

Well, her parents didn't come into the store today. :(
But a friend of Zemiyah's mother did. She noticed the painting behind the counter....and stared at it for a second...then said "OMG, is that.....Zemiyah? That is soooo perfect!" :D :smug: :) She assured me that everything.... skintones, expression....everything....was just right! :D
I can not wait until her parents see it.
