GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: STREET JAMMIN' in JAMAICA
Year Created: 2002
Medium: Watercolor
Surface: Paper
Dimension: 22
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
This is a Leroy Neiman knockoff that I did from a very small image... Lots of action...sketched from a 4" x 4" image..
Mine is 22" x 22" and has tons going on...
I think that background might have too many darks, but I wanted the people dancing to punch out and wanted the musicians in the top to show somewhat. What do you think??
Love a serious critique... I'm not a copier, I do my own thing...but this looked like fun...

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Sorry about the ground and my left foot showing..
This is my first open critique on this website...
Next pics of my paintings will be much better..
Note the top one /fourth of the painting has a bit of a reflection as I took the pic after it was framed...I know...not a good Idea..
Give a serious critique...I want to grow..
Thanx...from northern Cal Mountains...Therese'

Hi Theresa! Welcome to WetCanvas! Be sure to post your painting in Watercolor also. Pampe may not see your request to email you, unless she revisits this thread. You could click on her profile at the bottom on her post and you will see her email address there and you could email her. Having seen your painting in person, I know it's very nicely painted! Very lively and vivid! And nicely framed. It is hard for anyone to critique your work when it's framed though, as you already are aware of. :) You can post a painting here and in Watercolors too. I know you will love WetCanvas, there are a lot of nice people here.

searched out LN on google.
I like your work here as it is on its own.
I like his stuff for different reasons - for the possibilities it suggests (he inspires by breaking through dimensional barriers with color), yours for what it is, and I do find LN uncannily inspiring.

The energy and movement really work. I wish I could see it a bit more clearly, but what I see I really like. I bet you grinned a lot while painting this.
