This little piece is done from a Yarnell painting. C&C please.

Wonderful! Love the softness created. The branch sticking out is a bit distracting. I 'd be temped to thin it out considerably.

Lovely! But it does kind of look like there's a branch sticking out of the bird. Or is that feathers?

Thanks so much, which branch" the main one or the one beneath the fruit?

Oops! I guess it's really the tail. Perhaps it's the position it is starting from. Look at the birds feet and the where it's hind portion is - somehow I don't think it's (the tail) reading quite right. Not sure I am making sense but it just feels a bit off somehow (but what do I know about birds anyway?).

Just a bit twisted like the artist

 I wondered about that. I really like the painting, except the position of the tail.

Stunning work. There does appear something odd with the tail.

I like your colors in this George. A couple weeks ago I watched the program where Yarnell painted this. I like his programs.... always learn something.

George, your background is just dreamy and beautiful with those softly fused colours. I always enjoy your work and this is no exception. Poor little bird, everyone criticising his tail feather. Perhaps if he wriggled a bit and stuck it out at more of an angle and not in quite such a vertical pose, he would be more acceptable. Great work. Love it.

This is lovely and soft looking. You said this is from a Yarnell painting? so I am thinking the tail is like this in the original piece right? I have seen birds with their tails stick out like this now and then .It does look different but very cute.

You are correct. The original tail does look like that. I sometimes sit on my deck and watch birds. sometimes the tail feathers do point that way but really not often it seems.

I want to take the time to thank all the folks who commented. Your input is valued highly.
