Houses and landscapes sure are out of my comfort zone, to make it even more challenging I painted them on hot pressed watercolor paper (I usually use cold pressed).

Northern Lighthouse, W&N watercolors on Fabriano hot pressed (7,5 x 12")

SouthEast Lighthouse, W&N watercolors on Fabriano hot pressed (9 x 12")

I never posted the Antherium I painted last week, so I'm throwing in a splash of color here as well (watercolor 9x12").

That northern lighthouse is very dramatic, I love the grass silhouetted against the sky. Well done on all of them.

Great job on all three of these. The North lighthouse is on a tip of the island and you have to walk 30 minutes or more between the rocky coast with sometimes scary surf, and the wild life sanctuary opposite the ocean with a brackish pond on the other side, and scrub brush that borders it, so it can be a bit intimidating---you captured that mood, I think. I love the brightness of the Southeast lighthouse. You conquered the hot press paper! Good job on all three.

Hi Mona nice bunch each so different they're all good .I prefer the mood in the first oneyou did well on the hp . How do you like HP paper it is so different than the other I had trouble to use it the first time now it is my usual I ve used it for portraits anstarted with an almost invisible wash of raw sienna le it dry and the paint this way you've more control and can erase easily

It was a dark and stormy night...the first lighthouse is my favorite, and a warm and sunny morn.

Nice red leaf.

Great job on all.

Thanks for commenting

The northern lighthouse looked a bit spooky to me Bunny.

Robert, thanks for the tip on how to work with HP.Portraits are a bit out of my league just yet, but I might get there some day. I haven't liked working on hp before, but for buildings with fairly smooth surfaces it worked great. I have mainly used this pad of paper for acrylics :o , maybe I should stop that and start appreciating it for it's own benefits.

Love the first lighthouse with it's moody, coastal feeling.
