View Full Version : Two Workers for C and C please
First, I had difficulty in getting a proper image of this painting. The lights/yellow orange are too dark. Every time I try to adjust the image it throws other colors off. This painting is on 8 by 10 inch canvas. It is based on an image in the RIL; thank you al22. I wanted to use mainly ultramarine blue and orange in the clothing. All comment are appreciated. Thanks.

I did some work on this image in Photoshop trying to make the yellow more orange and lighter. This image still isn't accurate but I think it shows some of the luminosity in the original painting because of the use of complements.

I like this, wondering if some deeper shadows behind the workers might add some depth to it. Great use of colour.

Nicely done! I can feel the heat!
The camera is not always our friend when it comes to photographing our paintings is it.

Thank you for your comments. It was frustrating trying to get an image of this painting.

I really like your work. It has a very different and definite style about it and looking at this piece it appears you are perfecting it. Nice work.

Arlene, I would guess the painting hasn't photographed well, because of the glare from the fire you've re-created on canvas using the various shades of yellow. Like Melodie mentioned the intense heat from the fire is very evident in the colours you've used in the overall painting...
excellent piece Arline, really strong compostion, as has been said before I think darkening the shadows would help a lot.
